DAILY BLOG

I day
Evening was late on 22.nd of September when our fabulous Let's play team reached Elva! After some nice rest the real thing was about to get started.
In the morning of 23.rd September we had a Let's Play Youth Exchange KickOff Session to understand what it going to happen in the next week. As a team we made also same agreements like "Bora-Bora rule" and "Microphone-not mushroom rule". Estonian weather blessed us that day and we learned the names in nice fresh air.
On the afternoon we learned about Erasmus+ and after that started sailing on 8 Islands to collect stamps on Youthpass-Passport. Islands were actually 8 Key Competences and teams did great job by doing different tasks and working in teams.
After refreshing fruitbreak we had creative game outside to discover our venue - Tartumaa Tervisespordikeskus. Activity had a nice outcome as 5 inspirational drawings were created based on quotes.
Evening had a awesome ending. Our Welcome party turned out to be BINGO party and it was really intense, but also fun. #YELetsplay#erasmusplus #youthexchange #Estonia

II day

In the morning we ate really good breakfast which included pancakes. After breakfast it was time to start off our 1st category of games, which was team-building games.
Games that we played were: Bad idea, Marshmallow Spaghetti Tower and ZOO. After going through 3 amazing games, it was time for lunch.
After the lunch break we returned to the Party Room and continued playing the last 2 games, which were Suity Hero and Pixel Game.
Team building games brought us closer together and helped us to trust each other more since we had to use team work.
Also after each game we reflected upon what we have learned from those games, and if it is possible to implement those solutions for solving the problems in our lives. After games we all gathered in our own national groups and reflected about the day.
In the evening we went on a little trip to Tartu where we had an awesome time in the Gunpowder Celler and later on went dancing in the club.

III day
Today started with a energizer that Elo showed us. After that we divided in 5 groups and we started to play board games. 4 games were played before lunch time and one in the afternoon. Board games we played were Sheeps and wolves, Jungle speed, Dix it, Codenames and Saboteur.
All of these games were very interesting to play and they captured our attention so much that most participants wanted to play them longer. After lunch time we had free time to rest and to explore the area.
In the evening we had Turkish and Czech cultural evening which was like cherry on top of that day.

IV day
After two days played in this wonderfull TARTUMAA ABRAKADABRAA Tervisespordi center, we experienced a little bit of Estonian sunny sun and fresh air. The first game was led by Edgar and called magic towelball. It was so much fun. Another very important thing to mention is that nobody got injured and poisoned, even not animals unlike Fanda’s game! Super skilled Chinese football, was full of fun as well as blood.
Afterwards we went to the other town called Viljandi. At first we had a lunch in local football club five star restaurant where we finally experienced famous Estonian potatoes which we heard so much about. Afterwards we had a lunch, we went for a walk by beautiful Viljandi streets and parks, where we started afternoon block of games. First one was this super fast and dangerous game CRIS-CROSS-BALL-SQUARE game, which Dino loved most.
After that we switched to other game called ‘Sign leads you’ led by Matej. It was a good contrast to finally do something not so fast and competitive. And the SURPRISE came…pam pam paaaam….Everybody had to hang down from the Viljandi bridge in monkey style…and everybody are still alive! Then we had free time in Viljandi..
After coming back we had a dinner and after that was awesome latvian night! Games, funny dances, squat training, quiz (Czech won!), awesome food, sweets, drinking different kinds of beer, balsam, and home made wine. So far the best and the longest day was finished in the sauna with our favourite game SABOTEOUR! #YEletsplay

V day
Today was the fifth day. We played role-play and simulation games. We were starting with role-play game One Step Forward, where we needed to imagine ourselves into another role and see differences between the people.
The second game was Search and Rescue. The blindfolded rescue team had to save the three victims after huge earthquake by taking them to safe place. We experienced how we would be acting in critical situation.
During the third game we were experiencing other cultures through stereotypes. At this time we were visited by an expert on simulation games Ivar Männamaa, who wanted to observe our games and he saw how the project is going.
The fourth game was pantomime game. Every team had to use their imagination and body language to help the person, who was guessing the answer placed on the forehead of the other player.
The last but not least game was a variation on Mafia or Werewolf games called Vampires and Villagers. Usually this type of game involves killers inside the group of innocent people. The point was that there was not any killer this time despite every round was killed one person by the narrator.
We learned a lot of things during this day, which could help is in our lives. For example how hard it is to be in different life situation. It was very productive day and you can read about these games in our blog.
On the evening we had free time and we spend it aroud the fire.

VI day
So… the day began with cereal and sandwiches and after that we got ready to go outside. The first game was lead by Latvian girl Ligita and the game was called ´´slow emotion game´´. The game was about different sports and showing the emotions. There was two commentators and three sportsmen who had to do an impression about this sport. For example the sports were like pizza eating, floor cleaning etc. so the game turned out to be really funny!
The second game was lead by Estonian guy Marek and the game is called ´´Stop-etude´´. It was kind of a funny game and it took quite long time because everyone had do go on the stage at least once and everybody had a minute to perform something there. But as it seemed, everybody enjoyed the game.
Thirdly we played a game which was lead by Croatian guy Dino and the game was quite similar to foregoing games. The game made an impression of a talkshow. So there was one host who lead the game with some questions and the expert who tried to follow the questions and answered them.
Our fourth game was Turkish girl Büsra’s game and the game was about different inventions. There had to be three players on the stage and the others were audience. So, on the stage there were three different roles the players had to perform. There were hands, inventor and a host. That was really funny game and it took quite long time but nobody complained.
After that we had lunchbreak and quite long restbreak so we had to be back again at 16.00. Then we were ready to play Kateršina’s game which was also the very last game of our project. The game was entertaining and funny.
The day ended with Croatian and Estonian evening which turned out to be really really entertaining evening. As we saw, everybody enjoyed and had so much fun. Both countries had some slides about their country, some games and some really delicious food.
After the formal part there were some people who took the initiative and made some more games so everybody had fun and the party didn’t fade.
This is how our last gaming day looked like…Let’s see what tomorrow brings :)

Day VII
Last day of the project has begun. In the morning some people woke up in the jym. That means the party yesterday was quite successful. After breakfast we are went back on time and went through our journey again.
After we had refreshed our memories, we started creating a factory. All the participants reflected their learning outcomes and their own input. Here are some examples of what this project gave to our amazing participants:
-We stepped out of the comfort-zone and each one of us had opportunity to be game-leader
- We learned that games have much deeper meaning than we are used to and the most important part of game is reflection after the game
- We are now team-players and we support each other!
- We excperienced how to share feelings and face our fears
- We learned to make contact with each other, respect each other and we learned many new games!
- We learned that people are good and we disproved stereotypes through cultural learning and international friendship!
In the afternoon we had final evaluation. Evening ended with nice dinner, sweet cake and Youth Pass ceremony. But that was not the end. As it was our last night together, we spend it ofcourse playing more games!
"I'm not sure I can experience something what is similarly awesome again!" - feedback from participant

:)
